SUMMARY

One of the most important inputs of economic and social improvement is energy. From this aspect energy has an important role to raise living standard of a society. Providing sustainable improvement is also available with energy. However fossil fuel which is the most important energy sources is being used up rapidly. Related to this energy consume, environmental problems such as thinning of ozone layer and greenhouse gas emission has brought up energy efficiency on agenda. Related to important improvements in industry and technology, use and cost of energy has risen. As a result, studies to raise efficiency of energy has been intensified globally. Not only producing but also using the energy most efficiently has become the most important subjects of countries.
Saving means to be careful about consuming unbreakable materials using by people and the other living beings,using them when necessary and consuming them economical in order to continue the life.

If we think that all the sources on the world in which we are living using by people and the other living beings as a vital can be consumed,it is an undeniable and that they will be all consumed one day.

Consuming or during consuming these materials which are the vital sources of humanity,causes disappearing of some materials before they do not consumed completely.Although some materials can be regained by using a little energy,they do not regained.Using of some common materials for humanity especially by some parts in order to be economic power and the desire of being superior raise the amount of destruction and these destructions reach a point that threathen all human beings with an unstoppable speed.

Water,air,soil,planets, animals, fuel and natural gas are limited vital sources.These sources lessen day by day because of unconscious and excessive consumption and some energy sources such as solar and wind energy are not used by people as it should be.People  have not used enough the systems which are produced to benefit  from these energy  because they are too expensive.

Using ready sources are attractive because they require  less work and cost.People are face to face and existing and not distant danger.Unconscious consuming of some consumption materials that are common for people are forced us to take a common attitude.

We all have realized that unless we change the way of producing and consuming energy, we will come face to face with an irrevocable environmental crisis. This means in future we should use renewable energy resources and focus more on energy efficiency. Energy saving can be obtained in two ways. First includes concrete measurements such as using home, car and other latest technologies which has direct energy saving and organizing daily behaviours in order to use energy in a more efficient way. Second is indirect energy saving measurement and it includes using existing goods longer and in this way lessening production of new goods, organizing settlement in a way to minimize energy consume, using technologies which has less energy consume, passing to activities which do not have direct material consume in economics  So It is needed to acquire people some desired behaviours such as saving,being an aware consumer,attending some consumption materials common for all people.by the way of education to take a common attitude. To leave a habitable world to our children we desire to inform our society and children about the exhausting energy sources and energy saving. We also want to raise awareness about the future of environment unless we take measures.

To achieve our goals,we all have to agree about this subject as people,representatives of industry or executive public sector.It will not be unimportant even the least addition in the way of changing the consideration of energy consuming. We aim to raise awareness about saving energy and protection of natural sources on our children who will be the adults of the future.
Lifelong learning is given a very high priority within the European Union. Schools can provide an important contribution by imparting social and communicative competences. In this context participating in European school projects has a great significance. By installing partnerships with schools from different countries/cultural areas (Poland, Bulgaria, Italy, Greece, Spain and Turkey) we would like to achieve the following aims:

- Giving knowledge and increasing the  awareness from all parts of the society especially from students about saving,

- Providing positive and stable behavior changing about consumption.

- Making possible for the people to live in a healthier and safier environment.

- Making realize that this world is a heritage from our past  which we should deliver to the next generations as a habitable place.

- Becoming acquainted with certain aspects of the culture and history of the project  partners.

- Making room for contacts via email (emails, video conferences, Internet telephony)  but also for meetings of students and teachers of the participating schools

- Becoming acquainted with other cultures, with cultures that are different (e.g. Turkey) and aiming at a better understanding of the different nature of other countries/societies accepting these differences

- Critically scrutinising and - at best - exposing and breaking down stereotypes and prejudices

- Promoting the European idea by concrete cooperation and by personal contacts  with various European countries

- Implanting the European idea especially in our students and creating a positive image of Europe

- As a consequence of being engaged in studying other cultures and reflecting the results a better understanding of one’s own cultural background and history

- Understanding English as a language that links different countries/cultures and  thereby functions as a lingua franca
Activities:
10/2010 - The prepared Power-Point presentation will have been shown to the students. The products of drawing picture competition will be exhibited to all students and parents. The visitors will be informed about our project and the importance of saving.
12/2011 - A web site will be designed to share the feelings and thoughts, and documents and products of project.
05/2011 - Observing the results of campaign about reducing the energy costs. Comparing the bills from before and after the campaign. The families and school managements will see the result of saving.
10/2011 - A brochure will be designed to widen the importance of saving to the public. The local public will see that our schools are doing something to prevent the destruction of our planet and most/much of them will be affected to join this movement.
03/2012 - A campaign about collecting paper will have been held, every phase of this activity will have been  photoed. The participants and students will gain the consciousness about paper consumption. This photos will be shared on the web site.
05/2012 - The students will have produced some useful products from waste materials. An exhibition will be held to indicate these products to everybody ( local leaders, governors and press will be invited)

- The partner schools will work in all stages simultaneously, that is to say they will accomplish the same activities such as giving seminaries about energy saving and consumption at an early stage,

- All partners will design their part of the planned web site

- Organizing the  drawing picture competition about saving energy and arranging an exhibition. The participants will send some of these pictures to each other and  by this way they will be able to arrange an exhibition which consists of pictures from pupils of different countries.

- Taking measures about energy consumption at  schools and at homes and realizing the differences  at bills,

- Preparing and distributing a brochure to inform the people about the importance of energy saving,

- Arranging a campaign about collecting papers in order to raise the awareness about recycling,  

- Reusing the waste materials and producing new materials at the Art and Craft lesson

- It is essential that all partners inform each other regularly via e-mail
